Columbus County Sheriff's Office Citizens Academy

The Columbus County Sheriff's Office offers a Citizen's Academy to citizens of Columbus County. ...

What is the V.O.I.C.E. Program?

The Columbus County Sheriff's Office V.O.I.C.E. Program (Volunteer Observers Impacting Community Efforts) places volunteers in areas where they are needed to assist and support both sworn and non-sworn personnel in the performance of their duties.  The V.O.I.C.E. Program is an asset to the Sheriff's Office, as it creates opportunities for new relationships between the Sheriff's Office and the community.  The V.O.I.C.E. Program increases the available personnel at a minimum cost to the Sheriff's Office.  V.O.I.C.E. Volunteers bring with them a wealth of skills, knowledge, abilities, and an attitude that is positive and productive.  A V.O.I.C.E. Volunteer is a person who contributes his/her time and services to the Sheriff's Office through the Sheriff's Office non-law enforcement services.  The V.O.I.C.E. Program does not replace the need for paid personnel, however, it does supplement and complement the paid personnel.  The V.O.I.C.E. Program encourages citizen involvement in support of the Columbus County Sheriff's Office.
